The Benholm and Johnshaven Community Council (B&JCC) was established in June 1977 and has been in existence without a break since that time.

Over the years many residents of Benholm and Johnshaven have given their time, experience and ability working on the community council all striving to making Benholm and Johnshaven a better place to live and work.

The many changes and projects that B&JCC has initiated or worked on over the years are too numerous to list here but evidence of these are all around Benholm and Johnshaven. Of course the community councillors have not worked alone and many residents and business of Benholm and Johnshaven have made significant contributions in supporting the community council, and continue to do so, that’s what makes Benholm and Johnshaven such a nice place to live and work in.

Times have changed significantly since the mid-70s as have the demands and challenges facing community councils and continue to do so now and into the future. 

I can say that all nine of your current community councillors will do their best to ensure that the good work that has been done over the past, almost 50 years will continue.
